Fiction writing contest

There's still time to enter the 2013 Central PA Magazine Writing Contest. Entries must be original, unpublished, works of fiction and cannot exceed 1,500 words. Entry deadline is Jan. 31, 2013. There is no fee. First-place winner receives $500 and runner=up, $200. Good luck to all who enter.

YA writing contests

Amazon.com, Penguin Group (USA) and CreateSpace will hold the third annual Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. There will be two grand prizes: one for general fiction and one for young adult fiction.  The 2010 competition will also now be open to novels that have previously been self-published. Each winner will receive a publishing contract with Penguin, which includes a $15,000 advance. Here's post for details.
