Do you have a writing routine?

“I write when I'm inspired, and I see to it that I'm inspired at nine o'clock every morning” --Peter De Vries

Do you write at a certain time each day? Perhaps you write as soon as you put the kids on the bus or when the baby is napping. Or, if you work outside the home, you write early in the morning or late at night. And do you have a particular routine? Maybe you always make a cup of green tea or listen to a particular song to get you jazzed. What works best for you? I would love for you to share:)

  1. I try to spend a little time-at least 20 minutes-most mornings after I get everyone out of the house and before I have to go to work writing or working on a project. If I'm lucky, I squeeze in another 20 minutes on my lunch break (I also exercise then.) On weekends I try to work a little longer each day. But it doesn't always work out as well as I'd like.

What about you? I know you juggle work with writing.

  2. If I'm off I generally write from the time I get up until I take my shower hours later, then write more later. Otherwise it's after work and supper. There is never enough time to write.

  3. I do write every day but at totally different times. Whenever the 'best moment' strikes me :o)

  4. I agree with Jessica. I squeeze it in whenever but always have a cup of chai or coffee :)
