Let's use this post to remember our loved ones. Please tell us about your American soldier(s). And if there is someone you want us to pray for, let us know.
Buffy, thanks for taking the time to post this. We are blessed to live in a country with dedicated soldiers. My young brother enlisted only a few months ago in the army. My brother-in-law is currently serving overseas in the army. My husband is thankfully home at this point, after several deployments with the Army National Guard. And finally, I want to remember a friend of mine who was taken way too early while serving overseas, Todd Bryant. He was doing exactly what he wanted to do- serve our nation. His memory lives on for all of those who loved him.
Marissa, thanks for sharing. I will keep all of them in my prayers. Do you know how you just remember certain things? I remember when I was little, maybe 5 or 6, coming downstairs and my mom and sister, tears in their eyes, reading the newspaper. A guy my sister had dated had been killed in Vietnam. I remember Steve taking me down to the Tropical Treat and buying me a small vanilla ice-cream cone.I can still see him lifting me up to get the cone from the girl who passed it through a window. For some reason, I have never forgotten this. I can also remember seeing footage from the war on our black and white TV. I was so young and didn't understand what it all meant. Now that I have teenage sons... well, I just can't imagine. Blessings to you and your family.
